It is a cute coat, but I ordered it (in a different color) earlier this year and ended up returning it; the buttons look cheap, and the fabric feels cheap. It's a shame because it's a great shape, and the seaming details are lovely, but the quality isn't there. :(
If you don't mind the feel of the fabric, you could always replace the buttons, but I could barely stand touching the fabric -- it had a weird artificial-squeakiness to it.
Thank you for sharing that. My sister was wanting it and your input will make her feel alot better about the decision she had made not to buy it.
That's disappointing about the fabric. My wool coat is from Nine West, purchased a few years ago, and I LOVE the fabric.
Thanks for contributing, Laura!
Cute indeed! Super that Laura brought up the fabric.
In somewhat better news -- the coat I ended up with is from Kenneth Cole, and only a little more expensive (on sale, anyway). Doesn't have the same seaming detail, but the same shape, and in a much nicer fabric.
http://snipurl.com/15bse is the link to it on Bluefly -- it's currently down to about $130 there, in black and dark brown. (Mine is camel -- same color as my hair!)
That coat is super cute too! It has a little bit more vertical line to it, with the rounded collar and the deeper neckline (I know there's another word for that, but it escapes me now), so it would work better for me than the other. Too bad I'm not looking for a coat.
I'm glad you found one!
